Client photo proofing, without the spreadsheet
Proofing is the step where your client tells you which photos matter. In PhotoShr it happens inside a private gallery: clients heart their favourites, send them when they’re happy, and the list lands in your dashboard ready for editing.
Two kinds of gallery, chosen up front
When you create a gallery you choose what it’s for. A delivery gallery shows clients everything you upload and lets them download it; there is no selection step. A proofing gallery is for choosing: clients pick their favourites and you deliver only those — final retouches, album spreads, the images included in a package. Choosing up front means the gallery only shows your client the controls that make sense for the job.
What your client does
- Browses the gallery in a full-screen viewer, on a phone or a laptop, jumping between sets if you’ve grouped the photos.
- Taps a heart on each photo they want. A counter keeps track of how many they’ve chosen.
- Reviews their picks on one screen, removing any second thoughts, before sending.
- Sends the selection to you and sees a clear confirmation that it has arrived.
On a passcode gallery, clients can start picking before they’ve told the gallery who they are, and save their selection with just an email address — no password and no account to set up. On an invited-only gallery they sign in with a magic link or a one-time code instead. Either way, nobody is asked to create yet another password to choose their own photos.
What you see
The gallery’s Client picks tab shows the selection as it comes in. When more than one person is choosing — a couple, a family, a marketing team — each of them keeps a private selection list, and you see every list overlaid on the gallery and ranked by votes. The photos everyone agreed on are at the top; the ones only one person wanted are easy to discuss. In your gallery list, each gallery shows where its selection stands, so you know which clients are still deciding.
When you’re ready to edit, export the selection as a CSV with filenames, pick counts and who picked each photo, or as a plain list of filenames. Either one drops into a Lightroom or Capture One filter, so finding the chosen frames in a catalogue of thousands takes seconds rather than an evening of cross-checking numbers.
Proofs that protect your work
Upload your watermark and logo once and PhotoShr applies them to proofs automatically. If a particular client should see clean proofs — a returning client, or a gallery where image quality is the point — switch on watermark-free high-quality proofs for that gallery alone. With lightweight previews turned on, clients browse lighter copies that load quickly, and every selection still references your original files.
Access is private by default: every new gallery has a share passcode, you can lock a gallery to the clients you invited, and client galleries are hidden from search engines. Studio and Agency add an expiry date on the link and download permissions per invited client.
From selection to delivery
Proofing ends with delivery. Upload the finished edits to the same gallery’s delivery tab and send them; your client gets a “your photos are ready” email and a delivery page with your logo, where they can download everything at once or save single photos at full or web size. On Studio the page can also carry a cover image, a personal message and a link to book again.
Proofing and selections work the same on every plan — Solo, Studio and Agency — and you can see the details side by side on the pricing page. For a step-by-step routine, read our photo proofing workflow guide, or open one of the example galleries and pick a few favourites yourself.
